(More customer reviews)I spent two weeks in India in Feb 2008. One city we visited featured a touristy demonstration of block printing and an opportunity to shop. Concerned about weight and space, I only indulged in some cotton napkins. This Spring, needing to find a lightweight bedspread, I recalled the beautiful choices available in India and began a quest to find one locally. No luck. So I tried Amazon and of course a wide variety was available.
I could not believe how quickly the bedspread arrived. I was especially touched by the inclusion of a handwritten thank you note from Shalin India, enclosed in a typically Indian paper envelope that are ubiquitous there. It began "Namaste Paul,...". At once I was transported back to the wonderful experiences I had in India, the people so warm and gracious.
The bedspread itself was exactly the color I wanted, but it's construction was way above what I had expected. Instead of a single layer of printed cloth, the spread is actually two thin layers sewn together like a quilt. I was amazed at the workmanship, particularly in view of the reasonable price. I had wished that I had bought a bedspread while in India, but this entire experience was so rewarding. Never has an Internet purchase felt so personal.
I commend the owners of Shalin India for their product and customer service. You will not be disappointed!
